St Barbara too busy for ‘tyre

Silver Lake Resources’ pursuit of fellow gold miner St Barbara began several months before three successive bids for the company were rebuffed by the board this month.

Leaked emails reportedly show that former St Barbara chairman Tim Netscher rejected advances by Silver Lake chairman David Quinlivan in September last year to discuss a possible tie-up, saying the meeting would be a "distraction".
